Community Schemes
The Registrar General's Directions for Community Schemes form an integral part of the Continuous Improvement Program for Plans (CIPP), an initiative of Land & Property Information Division (LPI). They set out information needed by Surveyors, Solicitors and others in the preparation of their community scheme plans and will help to reduce delays and minimise the raising of requisitions on plans lodged for registration.
Used in conjunction with the required Deposited Plan Checklists, these Directions will assist surveyors, solicitors and others who contribute to the property development process by stepping through the complexities of land related legislation and by clearly establishing LPI requirements for community scheme plans.
Through this easy to use guide, you will improve the efficiency of your own business processes by developing an understanding of such critical elements as:
- the creation and release of easements.
- evidence of compliance with the Surveyors (Practice) Regulation 2001 and other community titles legislation.
- signatures required on plans and associated documents.
- approvals and consents required for subdivision and other special purpose plans, and
- the plan type best suited to a development proposal.
To ensure continued relevance, the Directions are regularly updated to take into account procedural and legislative change.
LPI welcomes comments and suggestions for refinement or addition to these Directions. These, together with any questions of a technical nature they may be forwarded through Contact Us or referred to the Policy Officer (Plans), Plan & Titling Services who can be contacted directly by telephone on (02) 9228 6817.
